It has been quite a while now since I have blogged. The sun has been shinning, the garden is in full bloom and finally the sea has started to warm.
February and March were spent completing some more of my ongoing fitness and personal training qualifications. April and May were busy running months, with qualifying points collected in the Exmoor coastal trail series and Glen Lyon Ultra for the UTMB race I hope to run in 2018. Both races, 33miles and 32 miles, were run in blazing sunshine, a bit of a shock as I am more accustomed to wind and hail. However it was a pleasure to run freely in the sun, I felt like I was solar powered.
Time to take a bit of a break from long runs, and get onto my bike. I recently purchased a new Cannondale road bike. I have been working on my open water swimming over the winter as I am planning on entering a triathlon in September, so for the next few months I will be clocking up as many bike and water miles as I can.
With more weekly classes, including one circuit training on the beautiful Applecross Bay, and a local walking group I am looking forward to a busy summer.
